Confederate Generals
General Robert E. Lee first lieutenant in 1863, and in 1838 a captain. In this rank he took part in the Mexian-War, repeatedly winning for conduct and bravery. He received the brevets of major for Cerro-Gordo lieut-colonel for Contreras-Churubusco and colonel for Chapultepec. Lee was in charge of the unsuccessful West Virginian operations in the autumn, he devoted his experience as an engineer to the motivation and defense of the Atlantic coast.
General Thomas Stonewall Jackson was born in Clarksburg, Virginia, on 21st January, 1824. Once the war broke out he was stationed as a colonel and was put in charge of organizing the Souths army. He lead the Conderates to victory against the unexpirienced Northerners and easily won the battle of Bull Run.
